Just a quick note inspired by my personal journaling…
I recently finished Gay Hendricks’ “The Big Leap” and it has been amazing to let sink in and ruminate over. He asks several questions throughout the book that are good for journaling on, but I enjoyed thinking through my own questions as I processed the information.
⮚ Limiting Our Own Success
The book teaches us that we all bump up against what we subconsciously believe is our own limit of how successful we can be in different areas of our lives. We all respond in different ways, but the response I want to have the most often is that of recognition.
The recognition of my limit-bumping makes way for blasting through the glass ceiling I have created for myself.
(Mind you, this is not always a financial glass ceiling, but it can be. I, for example, have discovered I have an imaginary limit on what is “okay” for stay-at-home moms to do with their time.)
Needless to say, the book was an enlightening read and presented a concept that is exciting to experiment with.
⮚ Journal Prompts
I have been exploring the concept through asking myself some of the following questions.
⮚ Is there a dream I have that I have not yet pursued?
⮚ What beliefs do I have that make me think I am not able to pursue this dream?
⮚ Are these beliefs universally true? Are they thoughts from childhood that can be questioned? Are my beliefs skewed in some way?
⮚ How would accepting more joy/peace/excitement/fulfillment into my life through this dream change the way I am currently living?
Happy journaling,
