Personal Review:
Another great book in this series!
This one was different from the first two in that I really enjoyed the first part, almost more than the last third of the book. I loved the cozy fantasy aspects and the relationship that is built between Adrienne and Herleif, even in the midst of the strange circumstances they must live in.
The characters themselves are top notch. Herleif is strong and silent (almost too much so) but it all makes sense as the story moves along. Adrienne is such a great female character. She made the best of a strange situation and worked to overcome the prejudices that she carried because of experiences from her own life.
There was a bit more kissing in this one than I remember from the previous books in the series, but that’s likely because the characters were married for most of the book. The context of them falling in love within the marriage was a really great aspect, though.
Love, love, and can’t wait to read more.
Happy reading!
